Cleveland Classical Guitar Society presents their annual season opener on September 16, 2017, at Plymouth Church of Shaker Heights. The Showcase features the finest local performers and is presented free of charge as a way to bring the community together for a night of great music. This year’s program includes performances by soloist Jeremy Collins, soloist Stephen Aron of Oberlin Conservatory, as well as the fantastic guitar and flute duo, Gruca White Ensemble, comprised of Linda White and Robert Gruca, both faculty at the Cleveland Music Settlement.
Congratulations to our 2017 award winners who will be honored at this concert:
Dr. Loris Chobanian, Cleveland Classical Guitar Award
Damian Goggans, Student of the Year Award
Simeon Brown, Volunteer of the Year Award
The theme of the 2017 Showcase is “Creativity & Community,” two words that we feel truly describe this event and which exist in all other CCGS programming. This event features innovative works (several original compositions) and exciting performances. The Showcase is free and open to all in celebration of the classical guitar. We hope that you’ll join us!
