CANCELED – Berta Rojas in Concert (March 14)
Cleveland Classical Guitar Society regrets to inform its patrons that Berta Rojas in Concert on Saturday, March 14 has been canceled. Due to heightened travel precautions, as well as the latest recommendations from Governor Mike DeWine and medical experts, it has been determined that it is not in the best interests of our audience or guest artist to proceed with the concert as scheduled. The health and well-being of our audience, performers, and staff are of top concern. This is not a decision that has been made lightly, but the health risks to the community outweigh the negative financial impact of canceling the concert.
We are currently exploring the viability of rescheduling the performance. Although this process is ongoing, we wanted to let you know about this weekend’s performance as soon as possible. Information regarding ticket exchange, refund, or donation will be forthcoming.
Please visit cleguitar.org or contact Cleveland Classical Guitar Society at firstname.lastname@example.org or 216-905-9348 for updates, more information, or concerns.
The 2019/2020 International Series is presented in part

This performance marks Berta Rojas’s Cleveland debut!
Berta Rojas ranks among today’s foremost classical guitarists. She has been praised as “guitarist extraordinaire” by the Washington Post and as an “ambassador of the classical guitar” by Classical Guitar Magazine. She has been nominated three times for a Latin Grammy Award (in the categories of Best Instrumental Album, Best Classical Album, and Best Tango Album). In addition to continually enriching her own artistic career through frequent international tours and masterclasses, Berta Rojas is firmly committed to furthering and disseminating the classical guitar. A particular focus is on promoting the music of her country, Paraguay, as well as Latin American music in general. She is dedicated to providing ongoing support for the careers of young, upcoming artists.
Rojas has been honored as a Fellow of the Americas by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for her artistic excellence. In a 2014 publication, the news agency EFE deemed her one of the most influential women in the Hispanic world.
