Sharon Isbin is the winner of two Grammy awards and Guitar Player magazine’s “Best Classical Guitarist.” She has appeared as soloist with over 170 orchestras and has given sold-out performances in the world’s finest halls. Isbin has appeared on the cover of over 45 magazines and her documentary Troubadour has been viewed by millions of people on over 200 television stations. This event will feature solo repertoire performed by Sharon Isbin, and will also include a special guest appearance by Colin Davin.
Colin Davin will join Sharon Isbin to perform as a duo. Davin is one of the classical guitar world’s rising stars, as well as being a past student of Isbin at Juilliard. Colin Davin has given concerts across the world and throughout the United States. He has appeared as a featured musical guest on the Late Show with David Letterman alongside soprano Jessye Norman. He has been invited as a guest teacher at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul, Afghanistan four times, and is Professor of Guitar at both Cleveland Institute of Music and Baldwin Wallace Conservatory. American Record Guide called him “The real thing — a player with a virtuoso’s technique, a deeply expressive musicianship, and a probing imagination.”
